Do you ever suspect that people lie about being computer illiterate?

I think that term is pretty vague nowadays, with a whole spectrum of meanings.

I remember, back in the dark ages, when a person either knew how to write computer programs or they did not use a computer at all. There was very little in between.

My mother-in-law has never sent an email or browsed the internet. She thinks her son is a computer whiz because he orders gifts off of Amazon! (Actually, he works with computers professionally, but to her it's all the same thing!)

So, if someone says they are computer literate, they may be sincere, and yet others may consider their level of computer knowledge to be pretty low.

Yes, as 99% of the time I know they have to use computers for work, and they won't have the option of saying no

Unfortunately people know I'm a developer or I'd pretend I'm absolutely illiterate 😔

I'm sure some do, sadly I think some people are just dim.
