This IS How I Identify!

I've always seen myself as a nerd and a geek...

"A nerd is a person seen as overly intellectual, obsessive, introverted, or lacking social skills. Such a person may spend inordinate amounts of time on unpopular, little known, or non-mainstream activities, which are generally either highly technical, abstract, or relating to niche topics such as science fiction or fantasy, to the exclusion of more mainstream activities. Additionally, many so-called nerds are described as being shy, quirky, pedantic, and unattractive."

"Originally derogatory, the term "nerd" was a stereotype, but as with other pejoratives, it has been reclaimed and redefined by some as a term of pride and group identity."

And whilst, yes, I acknowledge that George Lucas, Suzanne Collins and Taylor Swift are far from 'off the beaten track', I love the movies so much I have a home cinema, I'm always browsing bookstores and me and my bestie are always dissecting the latest episode of whatever's hit the Marvel Universe into tiny little portions.

I do have my shy moments...I think I scub up ok...and I have social skills..

But the rest? Yep, that's how I identify!

Sounds like my son. Extremely intelligent and social. But loves reading and sci-fi etc. He seems to love being home alone.
