How often do you say or write something

Not all the time, but I have to be more mindful of it than I used to be. I am a pretty empathetic person, but how people interact on the Internet has changed. Excuse me while I do my best granny voice, “in my day” lol people would just share their thoughts on the Internet where is now it’s inappropriate to give your feedback or advice without consent. The post itself is no longer an invitation for that kind of correspondence, so it comes off as intrusive to some people or invalidating/insensitive.

The general policy was that if you posted something then it was up for discussion and feedback. Granted, trolls still roamed the land, but for non-trolls Who weren’t on a mission to be a dick, as long as you were polite about it then things were good. Now there’s a lot more, “ these are my feelings and I am using this as a listening space for myself to have those feelings be supported/affirmed” which is a very different MO than posting something with the intent of discussing it. Like I said, not a bad change, but requires different approaches. It’s not like the new thing never happened before, but it was usually in specific forums of that nature, not a predominant etiquette @Classified

@WhateverWorks It's an extreme though. Most won't do that completely, especially when someone gives them advice in a careful manner.

Yeah, that’s what I mean the approach has changed. Now it takes more rapport building otherwise they feel attacked When from my perspective I was just discussing things, but since I’m not a dick trying to run around attacking people I recognized this change and altered my communication style lol @Classified
