It depends on the state and race or ethnicity.

Here in Tlemcen it is a disaster. You have to attend three to four parties for the last one to finally happen. And you have to buy an entire wardrobe of traditional clothes just for that one day..besides the western wedding dress and lot gold and pearl jewellery . It is like fashion show where the bride puts on all the dresses.

It is lot of money. Wouldn't be unfamiliar to reach around 3000000 algerian dinars budget just for the clothes.

Not to mention the food. The food is big part of celebrations.
