I hear you. I pushed most people away decades ago.
When I realised that most of the people were abusing my kindness and using it to their advantage. If I wanted help, no one was forthcoming.
So I learnt to do everything, without help from anyone. I do not think I have missed out being a loner. I do what I want, when I want with no chance of upsetting anyone.
I am very happy about where I am in my life.
No man is an island? That is utter BS.

Yes, found out recently. There are a lot of hurt people walking the planet. But the luckiest people are the ones who need other people, like Barbra said.

Yeah, im just different. It used to be easy as a kid to make friends, just cracking jokes every minute, no effort. Then people around me grew up and somehow that turned them into people they never used to be, while I remained the same. Now I wonder if I've lost my ability to converse after 1+ decade of not having friends, or if others still don't know how to do it.

I know people like this.
It makes me sad.
But they seem okay with it.
