I'm a Loner Most of the Time

I like helping and connecting with others in meaningful ways. Being around most people is draining and exhausting for me. I often feel sad or lonely when in a crowd because I can't or more precisely, won't, connect to anyone there. I don't like feeling like I judge others too harshly, but I suppose that's exactly what I do. I think most people are selfish, superficial, and shallow. I look for depth in others and usually can't find it. So I go off to talk to the dog or walk through the trees instead.

@Jon-I think I understand, you're saying you are content with the friends you already have, and also that without the coworker part of the social equation you may not have that friend either. I know luck and our daily life, makes a huge difference on who we let in and call a friend. So much to consider. Thanks for your response.
