thats just what makes you you
If your shyness comes as the result of trauma, then professional help would probably be a good idea. You’re very young, now’s the time to sort things out.

Don’t worry about if it’s normal or not. Many people are shy. Just practice at it. The more you allow yourself to be isolated, the deeper it will become. Just Practice saying hi to people here and there. Don’t worry about carrying on the conversation conversation. Just say hi and smile. You’ll find that huge step. I was a bit shy too. I forced myself to take a public speaking class, and then another, and then I joined a group called Toastmasters international. Next thing you know, I was out of college And giving Presentation to large corporate groups. Now I fear practically nothing. I don’t fear rejection. I don’t fear criticism. There will always be rejection and criticism along the way. it’s just a matter of not caring about it and just being you

I wouldn't say it's normal, but it seems more and more common.

Some people do better alone. I am also someone who has no problem whatsoever have little to no contact with other people for various lengths of time.
I am always productive aline though. Always learning something new or descovering something new when im alone, that i otherwise wouldnt if i were with other people

Your reply when asked why you are shy - "i think trauma and fear of rejection and fear of embarrassment"
It appears there might be something in your past that contributes to your shyness so it would be worth speaking professional help to work through these past events.

When young I was quite shy, but when I struck out on my own, I became less so over time.
If it impairs your path, you might need assistance. If not, then just enjoy life as it unfolds.

I wouldn't necessarily seek help. You need to know how you'll get through life rhough

I think the first thing you should do is ask yourself "why am I so shy?" Has anyone hurt you psychologically?
