LATEST NEWS: Introverts aren't more quiet

And extroverts aren't more loud or talkative.
This is a bad meme / bad stereotype / misconception that has spread online and especially teens wanna identify as introverts because it's more "cool" although often it's just extroverts with insecurities / anxiety.

What it actually is:
Introversion and extroversion is how we recharge ourselves after social interactions.
Introverts often prefer alone time with a book, a TV show, scrolling their phone and entertaining themselves while extroverts come home and wanna talk to everyone about everything they just have experienced and don't necessarily have any need for space in the same way introverts do.

Don't read me wrong. Extroverts have times by themselves too but if they are bored they tend to need people whereas if an introvert is bored they might just take time to do their hobbies by themselves.

In relationships introverts need to spend time with their partner just as extroverts, but it might not be as often as the extrovert partner prefers.

This is really true and also introverts need people to talk to too, but it usually has to be in a safe environment with someone they trust. I think it's something like ten percent of society is withdrawn and interverted, but social media makes it sound like it's fifty-fifty introverted to extroverted.

@Lostpoet Yes. Everyone needs to talk to someone that's human nature. And there's extroverts who don't enjoy small talk and need deep connections too

Lmao exactly. You go online and 95% of the young peeps say they're introverts. 😂

@Queendragonfly I wish being introvert was cool back in the day. In school everyone thought i was either stuck up or had a chip on my shoulder and the times where i was extroverted i just came of as annoying.

@Lostpoet Then you grow up and realize you're attracted to the opposite of yourself. It's quite common with one introvert and one extrovert in a relationship.

@Queendragonfly i think i always knew i was interverted my best friend growing up was very extroverted. His whole family except for maybe his dad was extroverted.

@Queendragonfly I have other family members that are extremely quite and some that are loud.

@Lostpoet Quiet can also be by choice, or habit. It doesn't automatically make someone introvert.
