Why is it that introverts have the internal struggle...

Of wanting to have friends.... and then thinking... wow, that's a lot of work... 😶

My whole problem is that often times you give someone an inch, they take a mile. It’s good to have friends no doubt wether you’re an introvert or extrovert. But having a friend and having someone who refuses to leave you alone are two different things.

@Spectra a friend is someone who will help you in any given situation and you will feel refreshed by their presents and someone who refuses to leave you alone will ultimately feel like a drain on you
I don’t hate people. And I don’t necessarily hate friends. I think due to making the WRONG types of friends when I was younger and now not having any of them around to support me the way I always supported them has made me bitter? I gave my time and support because I wanted to. Not because I wanted anything in return, but when they say “I’m here for you, whenever you need me”, you tend to want to believe them. I getting older now. And I do not have the energy to try and ignite another possible one way friendship yet again. But then there lies the dilemma that I do get lonely. It’s a never ending cycle lol

We only want it for 5 minutes but we don’t wanna carry the responsibilities of what being a friend entails. Remembering birthdays , buying birthday presents, visiting the friend , having to interact with their friends and relatives, helping your friend through emergencies , etc. It’s like having a baby.

It can be mentally exhausting.

I just dk how people talk for hours on the daily. They'll talk about their bus route to work or something dumb like that.

Because people run us out of energy too fast. Personally, my social battery is a single AAA battery
