I Am An Introvert

I am a very quiet person and tend to stay by myself. It is hard at times living in a very extroverted society. Have lived in introverted societies and I enjoyed it very much. Now I live in a rural area that is very wooded. It is easy to just fade away when I need to. When I was young, had people that were always trying to fix me. I don't need fixing.

It sounds good. Why did they think you needed to be fixed? I would like to welcome you to SW. I would also like to read how you live off the land and more on how it feels to live free.

@PoetryNEmotion I am a very quiet person and some people are not comfortable with that. I can be in a group of people and just be listening to what is being said and gathering ideas. Some people talk just to talk and really have nothing to say. I call them the chatting class. As for living off the land. That is something my parents and grandparents taught me. Grew up in an area that is very remote. No stores or villages close by. Even when living in the U.S. I stay in rural areas that do not have a lot of people. I think it helps me to keep the world in prospective and how humans are just a small part of the universe. I have no debt, which is freedom , too many people in this society don't realise that when you have a lot of debt, other people own you and control you. One last thing, as with most introverts, I think before anything comes out of my mouth. Now a days many people are very impulsive in what they say and do.
@Backwoodsman2 It is all very good. You don't need fixing. You were never broken. I would be interested in reading in detail how you live off the land. I think nearly everyone is too reliant upon civilization. Thank you.

I grow a lot of my food. I forage for fruits, mushrooms and other things. Of course, I do go to the grocery store but that is on occasion. In the winter I do go to the store more. Even then I an very careful what I get and eat from the store. I am fortunate to live in an area where there is a lot of local produce and meat. Most of my neighbours have small flocks of chickens and ducks. I do trade with neighbours. We also help each other. Where I live most people seem to on the introverted side, even the people who are more outgoing are still fairly quiet. I have no problem with modern technology, the problem I have is when are so obsessed and dependent on it that they can't think and function without it. When I go to the doctor in the small city closest to me it always amazes me, I see people crossing busy streets with their faces in their smartphone with out even looking up. Can't tell you how many times I have seen people almost getting hit by a truck or car
@Backwoodsman2 It is important to have balance in one's life. You seem to have it. People in cities are like too many ants. All scurrying around, oblivious to the world. The phones are a modern problem. Generations are addicted to them. It would be wonderful if people were self-sustaining. Nothing feels like soil in one's hands. The ability to grow, to create. Nature is being forgotten. And our world slowly crumbles.

@PoetryNEmotion By the way, I am an INTJ. Have taken many personality tests over the years and they reflect that.
@Backwoodsman2 I don't prefer labels. I know what that means though. You are a person.

@PoetryNEmotion Yes, I am. I like when people look beyond labels. too many people today are not taking the time to get to know people

The area where I live has deer, moose, coyotes and other wildlife. Have had people from urban areas try to live here and the first thing they want to do is change the area. They don't last long.
@Backwoodsman2 I have lived in the country. I have lived in a larger city, smaller cities. The best is outside a city. I have encouraged a deer to return to the forest as she was wondering down a road by my home into the city. I have appreciated wild animals. My mom saved wildlife. People from cities have to know that destroying a home to make a home is undesirable.
