Human history in a nutshell:

People reach an equilibrium => something upsets it => people scramble => a minority figures out something that works => this solution slowly becomes the new equilibrium => something upsets it => repeat

Thr only examples i can tnink of when minorities views have taken off, is when they fought long and hard for it🤷‍♀

Benedictine monasticism

What started out as one monk creating a retreat where people could live orderly and intentional lives in a time of tumult eventually became the literary and bureaucratic backbone of the power structures of that day and age.

burghers and the birth of the middle class

They did not overthrow their feudal lords. They learned skills that were marketable and acquired wealth that had been reserved only for those born into nobility before then. This became political leverage over time.

Early Christianity

In the beginning it was a cult of weirdos. But because the practitioners were so happy and at peace at a time in history that was quite dark, this attracted people from all walks of life. This decentralized mode of spread took it very far.

Agriculture

Functional adaptation that outcompeted for population density.

Bitcoin

Didn’t fight central banks in court.
It created an alternative ledger system and spread through voluntary adoption.

Air travel

Didn’t win by ideology.
It was faster. It scaled. It diffused.
@CynicalSpaceMan i think some of that is over simplified , but the bit coin is a good example..
