I found that out the hard way. And it's not only on SW where you have to be careful. People anywhere will show you, to your face, how accepting they are of what you're saying about yourself. But when you're no longer talking with them, directly, it's a different story. And, whatever they interpret as bad news about you, whether it's bad or not, they'll share with their friends. Once the ball gets rolling, it's unstoppable. And, nothing travels faster than bad news.
It's sad but not surprising, fear and hatred are so highly promoted, especially in this political environment. It doesn't take much to trigger people into defense mode. They're conditioned to assign negativity to anything that accommodates their fear fix.
So yes, be very careful.
