I Like Intelligent People

Truly intelligent people.. Arrogance and a posh splash of curt sarcasm doesn't mean intelligence. It shows a good deal of cleverness which can be appreciated and some pseudo pride, which is fun to poke at. I guess I mean to say.. I like people who I can hold a conversation with mutually.. Despite even disagreements. I like people with an ability to debate, not just argue. I also like being proven wrong and especially being right. Heh..

I guess I also like learners, as opposed to "professionals." I like sharing ideas and communicating without fear of rejection and a sense of affirmation.. Being human, instead of robotic and stoic, because really.. Intelligence isn't a competition for the emotionless.. It's a competition for the passionate and emotional.. The crazy soulful ones with dreams who are willing to fail in order to discover something new.

I suppose that's really the meaning of being intelligent.. To be open-minded in all directions but firm on your own beliefs from experience enough to identify you from a crowd. The body is a weapon of the mind, and by understanding your own, you tune the strings to your own mortal instruments.. Creating survival in any terrain. :P

Intelligence in the literal definition is being able to make connections in reality,
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Right, how would you define wisdom?
TrueZetetic
Haha.
AnonR
Wisdom? Well, experience
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Well, to argue back, experience doesn't guarantee wisdom. Otherwise, this place would be a hub of sages. :P
AnonR
You do not gain wisdom by sitting around all day, you only gain wisdom by directly experiencing events. Now one may say that Wisdom can be picked up by objects such as books. Yes, but books usually give insight about reality around you, but lack giving insight on human interaction, pain, hatred, and events in YOUR life.
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Well, understand that experience doesn't necessarily come with learning. You can experience something a handful of times and never understand its importance until you personally understand it yourself. To add in on the analogical object, you can pick up any book you choose, but if you can't read, anything in there is useless for you.

Experience + Understanding= Wisdom

If we continue this conversation, i feel as if we will only be agreeing with each other
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Haha, great. Good shuffling.. Though, do whatever you please. Agreements only go so far till there is friction.
RipperKing
Wisdom can be achieved through spiritual experiences, many of which can be done in a sitting position.
AnonR
This was a conversation of opinion, you are not wrong, if that is what you think of wisdom, alright then.
AnonR
Astral Projection is simply hallucinations when one achieves a hypnotic state, you gain no wisdom from it, it is purely imagination. If AP is what your referring to, that is
RipperKing
Nope.
AnonR
What are you referring too?

To*

Oh, man.. I'm missing out on a good one. Ah.. Long reply. Just going to apologise already.

1) I can somewhat see what you mean Rev, though I do not see that strong correlation between identification and actualization. I guess I could summarise wisdom as applied experience.

2) Are you referring to the principles similar of Taoism? Spirituality is a nice little road.. I am iffy to ever use it as anything tangible because it's too indefinite, extremely subjective and usually exaggerated.
AnonR
Yep, my purpose here is no longer valid, i'll be leaving now
