I Am An Infj

Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging. At least, according to the 70-question version of the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator that I took online today. This personality is called the "Confidant" and also the "Advocate".

Which personality type are you? Follow this link, answer the questions, and find out. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. Just answer honestly. Here's the link: http://psychology-tools.com/personality-type-indicator/

If you also happen to be an INFJ, or you want to learn more about us, you can visit this website, which gives a good, detailed desc<x>ription of the traits of this type. Here's the link: http://www.16personalities.com/infj-personality.

Also, if anyone knows of a website where the full-length Meyers Briggs Type Indicator (which I understand has over 100 questions) is offered for free, please let me know. Thanks!

I'm not sure you can get the "official" myers-briggs for free. I was given the test many years ago when I was having some counseling. That's the first time I became acquainted with M-B and personality types in general. It was very eye-opening an helped me understand myself a lot better. Since then, any test I take, online or otherwise, I'm 100% INFJ.

It took me a while to become comfortable just being me. Between others trying to "fix" me and me putting myself in situations that exhausted me just to try and fit in, it was a long road. Now, I'm just me, and since I let myself off the hook, life is much less stressful.

You may be right. I tried for a while to find the full-length, official Meyers Briggs Type Indicator online for free and I couldn't either. I might want to take it sometime, but I have taken a few different versions of the test, with different questions, and I tested as an INFJ every time.

I've had people try to "fix" me, too, especially people in my own family. But that didn't work with me either. It's so much easier to be around people who just let us be ourselves. Now I just need to get the right kind of job for me - one that will be a good fit for an INFJ.

Maybe work from home? Some days I wish I could, but that's not a practical solution, and it only means hiding ourselves away even further.

I work in IT, and no one in any office I've worked in understands what we do anyway, so as long as the internet works every day, people tend not to bother me. Actually, that's a bit extreme. I work in a small office and have been here quite a few years. My coworkers are very accepting of my need for space, and they have learned not to take it personally if I turn their invitations for drinks after work and just want to go home.

That's great. It sound like you've found your niche. I'm still looking for mine. Maybe working from home would be a good thing for me.
