Are they essential?

Without idiots, would Similarworlds.com just be virtually empty most of the time with very few posts? Are idiots essential in the grand scheme of things on Similar World? After all, in the world of nature, decomposors are essential, so it is with Similar Worlds, idiots keep the site going, in my humble point of view, what ith yours?
