I Believe Good Manners Is Not Old Fashioned

Four years in January and I am still sometimes aghast at what some think are appropriate things to say to strangers. And how badly it's said. 😂

I've been thinking about manners. One of the problems we're encountering in society today is the constant contact with people unlike ourselves. Different languages, mores, cultures, customs.

The society I grew up in, while it was governed by men, treated women with courtesy and respect, in public at least. That is fast approaching extinction. Still, though, it is jarring to me when I see or hear women bejng treated with rudeness and spoken to in language laced with obscenities.

But not all cultures have that tradition, and that raises the question of 'what exactly is rude, anyway?'

They are but old fashioned doesn't mean bad or archaic. They are old fashioned in the sense of being classic.
