I'm 40, but humanity did a 180 from when I was a kid.

I remember people being kind and helping each other. I lived in a community where people knew and looked out for one other.

So yeah it's hard to accept how selfish and uncaring people have become. It's weird that's the direction we took, and almost makes me glad to be the outcast.

Anyone else notice this? Could just be my area.

I'm 32, and I've noticed such a drastic change over the years. I've struggled with social anxiety my whole life. In the past I was able to manage it by forcing myself to be social with strangers. People were generally happy to have a random conversation with a stranger. Now, when I try to strike up a conversation it kinda falls flat. Everyone seems so stand-off-ish now. Sometimes I wonder if it is a "me" problem, but it seems like its affecting so many others as well.
@Sylphrena it's definitely not a you problem. I find being kind and respectful to people makes them standoffish and I don't trust that. They have the problem.
