But there's just something so dismissive about it. Like people put me a box on a shelf to look at occasionally. But I'm a person. I'm many things worth knowing. A million tiny facets but nobody notices the details.

As far as I can tell.........you post no pics. Not even an avi. So there is no compliments coming to you for your looks. You don't have much on your profile page about yourself..............so how would anyone know what to compliment you on about ur life and/or thinking?
Compliments are earned...............not just given blindly. If you want more.........show us more...tell us more about you.
Or just pick someone to PM that you find "interesting". (touche) ;-) Get to now them and if they do not appreciate you..............move to the next person you find "interesting"..
