The line, from robot "Sonny's" creator - Dr. Lanning, carries a dire warning. Of things more science, than fiction.


Ghoulish...we're crossing a line.

Hyper anthropomorphized. To closely replicate human qualities, it's going to be self-learning.
Huge on AI.

We're still trying to understand AI's emergent behaviors.
Its simple rules interact = big unintended changes.
Which get worse, the more a system "learns".

This can't be accurately modeled or predicted.

We've seen this in both AI, and closed networks of computers, who develop their own languages, and uncommanded operations.


What happens when the robot learns to rationalize it's way around ethics & operation laws meant to protect human beings?
In essence, learns to bend morality like we do?



Everytime we attempt to play god, things go off the rails. Once again, I'm not sure the world understands what it's unlocked.

Very scary.

First thing that came to me was Terminator.

That's scary if it's real... It also looks real enough to just be a human in a white suit to pretend the technology is much further than it really is though.
