I just heard something running along my garage roof

It sounded like a tall person taking really big steps while running but I know that's not what it would have been.
I have no idea what it was, other than kinda creepy.

Decades ago around 3am,I heard somebody jump/land on my flat roofed flat from a flat above,and run off .Later that morning,the police called at my door.An old woman living in the above flat had died in suspicious circumstances.Absolute truth.
