I Am a Complicated Person

I have often been criticized for being antisocial. There is a lot of truth to this. I don't enjoy parties or social gatherings. I never have. However, I often smile at strangers. When I go to the grocery store, I usually have a brief, friendly conversation with the cashier. I always call the cashier by his or her name. I am actually very good at remembering people's names.
I have also been criticized for being cold and arrogant. I have never been an altruistic, nurturing, generous person. I can be rather selfish sometimes. However, I'm not a bully and I don't bother anyone.
I have also been criticized for being stupid. It's true that I am totally useless at anything practical. Most people become so exasperated by my incompetence. However, I have had some people say that I'm a good writer. I am also good at memorizing facts and dates ( not very practical, I know ). Some people think that my utter helplessness is evidence of my femininity, but actually it's evidence of my ineptitude.
I am not a sinless saint. I am not a hardened criminal. I don't fit perfectly into any category. Most people don't know what to make of me. Sometimes I don't know what to make of myself.
I am indeed an extremely complicated person.
