When someone lies to you, do you call them out or let them dig their own hole?

I learned not to engage in that kind of game -if they want to lie they can lie somewhere else away from me.
I don't have the energy to hold everybody to account or to try to teach them a lesson.
Some people never learn anything and continue to lie no matter how ridiculous it is.
