How often do you successfully lie to yourself?

You always lie to yourself cause your hoping of something better will happen and it never does but you have at this moment if you search for it .
If only I had this I be ok .
If only this happened I be ok .
Those kind of examples .

I try not to lie to myself. I come up short sometimes. But lying to yourself is treason to yourself.

I mean its a victimless crime, kind of like taking drugs but.... *shrugs*

I used to a lot.

Now I just gave up on lies and agreed that I'm not going to change.

In the long run, it’s never been successful.

My therapist says I do it a lot, as in "fake shame"
