Say very little and avoid details. Sound very assertive and sure of yourself. Get angry if they ask questions.

At least, that's the way my mother used to do it.

that's what my friend always does even though I was sure she was lying I just avoid the topic when she does cause she's scary

@LittlePrincess: The anger is a form of "lie insurance." If anyone challenges you or is about to...look scary angry. My mother was an expert.
