Being boring doesn’t make you a bad person.
First perhaps the people you’re trying to impress are not good people.
Secondly and this is a self improvement idea only: if you believe that you come off boring there are things you can do about it.
Become more of a listener when people speak. The one who listens more is liked more because when people speak they are looking to be respected or validated so when you listen they like you more because they are getting a need met.
I’ve know a lot of nice women who were “boring”. Their biggest conversational problem was that they did not know how to let a topic drop or allow a conversation to move from topic to topic.
Gossiping about people especially people perhaps the other person doesn’t know is a boring topic.
Being negative in conversation is also boring.
Politics is boring.
Money or finances especially financial worries are boring.
Religion is a full topic also.
Light topics discussed without expressing views are more likely to make people feel less confronted and challenged and they may offer up key information about themselves that may offer insights into what they are interested in talking about.
