What drives people to set up catfish accounts?
I feel there has been a significant rise in catfishing. Wondering why people would do such a thing.

I had a few women catfishing me the past few months. Or maybe the same person with multiple accounts. It was so obvious.
I have a high tolerance for it because I was still getting something from our interactions. But I was shocked how often she would suggest that we should meet in person, and then find excuses at the first sign that I was trying to make it happen.
I decided that it must have something to do with the power of manipulating someone's emotions. It's like a pathological liar on steroids.
