End of Summer
Mabon is still a few days away but yesterday was the first day that it felt to me summer had ended.
A low grey sky with yellow leaves falling here there.
The crickets and insects are still noisy but the birds are much quieter, and everything has gone from that vibrant alive green to a very dull almost olive.
This is the time to reflect back on the summer that was and for me it was mixed. Some difficult family issues, but there were some memorable adventures too. Above average rainful the second half of summer made everything green and rich and growing and the fields have been choked with every kind of wild flower.
A few good friends also added some magic and I'm thankful for them.
What I always miss most as summer leaves are the balmy nights under the moon with the night sounds and the bats and the fireflies.
But I'm mentally ready for Autumn now. Pumpkin muffins with my coffee and ready to bring out the Halloween fun stuff.
