Tell us about your belief in the Devil regardless of your religion. What does he look like and what does he do?

If you do believe in God but not a Devil why one and not the other ?

I was kidding about the coven. I did not actually read the posting rules on here but I am going to guess summoning demons is frowned upon. But seriously however that works in Paganism tell us about that.

If you are Luciferian tell us about that.

I the tradition I follow "The Devil" is pretty much any supernatural entity that does anything or shares knowledge the church didn't approve of.

And interestingly was often kind of an ally of the downtrodden in some stories. All of this is often simplified to the "folkloric devil".

And my only experience with deity was Hel the Norse queen of the underworld....or one of the underworlds.

In the pagan tradition I follow of folk practitioner/ trad craft along with some Norse polytheism it gets a bit complicated.

In terms of my relationship with any gods the devil has no equivalent or any involvement at all.

In my witchcraft/ folk magick there is the folkloric devil which is basically anything the church didn't approve of or even decided is the devil because reasons.

"You got that from your ancestors? Well that is really the devil deceiving you, you filthy peasant"

You had a connection with a spirit.....well that was the devil.

Called on a saint the wrong way?......the devil.

Claim you spoke with an angel?.......the devil.

Got that from a local folk magician.....the devil.

Starting to see a pattern?

This world operates on the axis of opposite and equal. Given there is hot and cold, up and down, good and bad, it is stands to reason if there is a God of heaven (who encapsulates LOVE - and I don't have time to argue this belief nor the many heinous acts of violence and bigotry done in his name), there would [i]have [/i]to be an opposite to that. While I can't entirely get my head around hell, I do believe there is a supreme evil being and I am thoroughly convinced if gender is applied to these beings, she is definitely a woman.

I believe in good & evil and a divine force for both. At times in my life I have had the devil in my soul and know what it is like to be a puppet for something unnatural

@robertsnj I have had an elemental stalk me from the age of 6 up to about 10 yrs ago when things came to a head. I was used & had large portions of my world turned on its head as I did things totally against the grain
