Zeuro i really disagree.
All the information that i discovered says otherwise.
Ive studied.child development, mental development and motor skill development in children, and wjat ive outlined above is basically a 'tip of the iceberg' , almost main 'bullet point' version of what 90% percentile of where skill points lay gender-wise.
There are exceptions of cousre such as developmental delay, gifted, and those with disabilites.
As we mature, these skills and aptitudes can be broken down into more specific elements such as endurance at specific tasks and skills and/or accuracy .
Such as:
When given a visual task of accurately choosing a specific symbol out of a selection, (im general):
- women score higher in accuracy over long periods
- men score higher over short periods.
Its a generalised gender trait that women seem better for endurance of tasks, and men score higher at 'burst' type tasks.
There is no one gender more mature than the other -
AND there are always exceptions.
We are complex animals with a very complex brain, social structure and environment.
The reason the fallacy of 'women mature faster' is believed, (and some studies support) is the the school system, and early childhood
cognitive development is based upon tests that are fundamentally geared towards the skill set girls excell in: which is the more cognitive type.
They do not test for physical skills.
If they did, then they would see that it is a male dominated area.
If they tested for reaction times - boys would win.
If they tested for co-ordinaton , again boys would score higher.
A human is mind, body, (and soul), and should be assesed in all aspects, not with a genre Bias.
But i do agree that in mental ability when ot comes to social skills, maths and literacy - girls mature more quickly and earlier than boys do.
But eventally boys catch up .
I also work with children. And what ive learnt, i truly honeslty see....everyday.
Boys eventually develop social slills such as ' personality evaluation' 'cunning' , 'manipulation' and all those other attributes we assume girls seem better at.
They just implement it a bit differently....and frankly, arent as obvious about it.
