colonization of mars changes everything [I Want To Go To Mars]

i don't want to go to mars, but this site has very strange group names. it seems not serious. (the post types are also strange)

there is serious planning to send people to colonize mars. if it happens, a new era begins. all the big problems on earth will be seen differently, because there will be a place to escape to, to build a new world.

{jarvis19] hypothetical as this question is starting a new colony on mars the problem would be taking humans would be taking the problems that come with this . i do not want to be a pessimist or killjoy but it is like the old english saying it wouild be like taking coal to newcastle

[@3749,smiler2012] i agree with you. elon musk has talked about this, and his team is working on something like new societal rules for a mars colony. human nature will not change just because people are on a different planet, though. it's a big problem to consider.

[@1211807,jarvis919] i am again being a little pessimistic but for all the best will in the world you will never alter human nature alas

[@3749,smiler2012] would be hard to disagree with you there.

Indeed. I wonder if the terraformation of Mars will ever be possible.
jarvis919 · 22-25, M
[@913049,Azlotto] that seems to be the big hurdle. i have read scientific articles that say it is impossible. but I am sure we will try. we should at least try.

Humans being what they are, it’s not an *if* we go, but a *when* we go.
jarvis919 · 22-25, M
[@527654,Zaphod42] i agree with this. like manifest destiny.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
[@1211807,jarvis919] I wouldn’t call it that, more of just our natural curiosity. We’ll go to Mars for the same reason we climbed Everest…it was there.
jarvis919 · 22-25, M
[@527654,Zaphod42] i hope so.
🤷‍♀️ They are what we are stuck with...
GhostPoncho · 46-50, M
It’ll never happen ever.
jarvis919 · 22-25, M
[@903658,BelovedTed] why do you think that?
RealJasonVoorhees · 61-69, M
I've gone to space a couple of times.
