Israel's Beresheet lunar craft
"Beresheet" is the first word in book of Genesis ( in Hebrew, of course.) It means, "in the beginning."
And that was the name given to Israel's first moon-bound spacecraft. It reached lunar orbit in April 2019, but it crash-landed (however it did send photos back before it crashed.) The intended landing site was near the Apollo 17 site in the Sea of Serenity.
Meanwhile, NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has been orbiting the moon since 2009. Here are photos it took while passing over that region: one before, and one after the Beresheet crash.
