This is a photo taken from the Chinese Chang'e 5 spacecraft, back in 2014.
The Earth is in the background, which means we are looking at the far side of the moon. This is a view we can never get from Earth.
And, to return to one of my pet peeves, this picture does show that the far side is NOT the "dark side". There is no "dark side"; at any point in time, 50% of the moon's surface is sunlit. Which half of the moon is lit and which half is dark changes with the phases of the moon. In this pic, most of the far side is lit, which means on Earth we would be seeing a crescent moon on the near side.
Earlier space missions took photos like this, but they were never as clear as this beauty is!
soo damn beautiful our Earth is,,,,,I wonder where God sits and makes all these balls move,,,,,I believe in magic when I see heavenly bodies and study deeper concepts of this universe it's so charismatic
On one of the 1000's of channels I overpay for...there's a Nasa station that is very cool....just shows different things....space is truly the final frontier!
