Well we're the species that bases everything on property and ownership.

@HannibalAteMeOut we weren't always :(
HannibalAteMeOut22-25, F
@basilfawlty89 well that was a long time ago

@HannibalAteMeOut you dont think animals do that either? try and enter some wolves or lions territory or try taking food away from them and see how they react
basilfawlty8931-35, M
@Torsten those animals don't require a piece of paper that's a placeholder in order to access resources and services.
Torsten36-40, M
@basilfawlty89 nah they kill one another and steal instead for it
basilfawlty8931-35, M
@Torsten not all animal. Humans are primates and are a social species. Sure, if we surrendered to basic animal instinct we might do that, but we have higher thinking capacity. It doesn't change that freedom of movement and the right to water, sanitation, food and shelter should be a basic human right.

@basilfawlty89 my point is our system in a lot of ways is better.
Food, shelter and sanitation sounds good to say its a basic human right, but everything else on the planet basically fights for those things. The strong survive and the weak dont sadly

@Torsten when I say property I mean the big kind. Of course some animals want to have a place they can find shelter in and food to survive. That was us when we were living in caves too. But I won't call a cave "property". As humans we are hyper conscious of our belongings. We see a mere tree and think of profit. I don't think the other animals place such importance on it. And that's how we evolved into a society with money. Do you think we would need money if we didn't love having property?
Torsten36-40, M
@HannibalAteMeOut I get what you're saying for sure. A lot of animals are very similar though with property or territory. A cave could very well be considered the property of certain animals .
The tree for profit not so much with animals and I do get what you're saying. Just repeating that to make it clear but i think we have so much more in common with animals compared to what some people would like to believe
