I have never understood why people walk the streets drinking coffee. Drink it in a coffee shop! sit and enjoy it! THat way you use a cup that can be washed and reused many many times

@WalterF Sadly if you sit and drink coffee at three biggest UK chains since the recently reopened, they are all serving in disposable cups, creating millions more very difficult to recycle cups. This saves on staff and energy costs.

@devonman That's news to me. I thought there was a move to reduce these composite cups, not increase their use. Very bad news then

@WalterF I visited both Nero and Coffee1 both only serving in disposables yet the independent next door serving in proper cups .

@devonman Now I come to think of it, my first sit-down coffee out was at a Costa on 16th July, and looking back, that coffee was in a disposable cup. It didn't occur to me at the time, I remember throwing it in the bin without a seond thought. Wow. Sad. So much for their care for the environment!
