The Rigel system is the first destination on my journey which delivers everything I expected and more.
For those of you who are unaware, Rigel is a star system in the bottom right of the Orion constellation as seen from Earth:
In reality, it is not a single star, but four:
The seventh planet, whilst subjected to extreme radiation, is home to a museum dedicated to all things Star Trek:
And, as a special bonus, the museum also contains a prison cell holding none other than Gene Roddenberry himself, who was arrested in 1991 for publishing blueprints for a working model of a warp drive, in violation of the Prime Directive. He was most gracious, and even autographed the photo I took with him:
