The Andromeda Galaxy and our own Milky Way Galaxy will collide in around 4.5 billion years. Of course, it’s unlikely that any of the one trillion stars in the Andromeda Galaxy and the 300 billion stars in our galaxy will actually hit each other... the distances between all those stars is too great.
@Lilymoon We use terms like 4 million light-years and we kind of think we comprehend the distance referred to, but of course we don’t. Our evolutionary history is centred on metres, kilometres, etc... our immediate surroundings
