I feel passionate about protecting children, however I feel this move is largely performative and political in nature. I’ve already seen problems coming up. But the blanket ban looks good to voters.

@Notladylike It's fucked, and I think as an Australian you know it. It's a government control thing. That's why even the opposition has come on board.
@Unquestioned Yeah I’m worried it will be a barrier to kids reporting exploitation and other online abuse. Really these spaces should have a responsibility to ensure safety. We are coming at it from the wrong angle.

@Notladylike That would be ideal, but would involve a huge amount of government oversight that is currently not practical. Reform will progress through small steps like the under 16s ban.
