I Love Rivers

The Delaware River was once a cesspool. Then the big bad Nixon passed the Clean Water Act and the Delaware became clean. But recently we see that

"...climate change presents a number of issues. Increased temperatures mean longer summers, and rivers that are expected to stay warmer. Rising sea levels mean the salt line could move further upstream in the Delaware River. And scientists have already seen an impact on wind speed, which is decreasing.

Danielle Kreeger is an ecologist and senior scientist with the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary. Kreeger says these are all cause for concern.

“Despite improvements because of the Clean Water Act to treat sewage and wastewater, we still are not done,” said Kreeger. “And these animals, which we’ve seen come back, like Shad, they’re still vulnerable to losses of oxygen in the future if we let our guard down.” (Susan Phillips, 1/15/19, Whyy magazine)

So I ask out: What is this current President going to do to kill this river...again?

Will we just stand by and let it happen?

It's a stock photo actually. This President is trying to kill the planet. All water bodies are in the greatest danger now. Please be aware and get involved.

@Platoscave it isn't just the Delaware River. Its the oceans. Coral bleaching, plastic pollution

@damselfly Hi Damselfly, so maybe now the succession can be reversed before it happens?

@Platoscave I don't think so. I think it's too late.

@damselfly Hmmm I guess I read that wrong. I hope this can work itself out, we have enough financial chaos in the world already and it seems running away always makes things worse...

to follow that "river" theme...

Agreed. But coral bleaching is irreversible. The oceans are all heating up
