@peterlee My commuting route used to be partly across flat fields and heathland, and on Spring and Summer mornings these could display lovely lighting effects.
Ground-hugging mist would give the impression of the higher areas resembling islands in the sea. Sometimes the furze bushes looked as if covered in frost but it was actually dew on masses of spiders' webs, catching the sunlight.
Another part of the route led along the side of a valley and that could have an air of mystery due to thick mist in it, below the road level.
