Many , it is recorded, were commissioned by collectors of such images Others produced to feed a lucrative. Illegal market .
The marker was mainly , but not exclusively for the female form .

I like and have a keen interest in this style of carefully posed arty images .
Hard core images of couples having sex and having in oral were also produced .

@samueltyler2 This is why erotica and pornography is rather dodgy - especially in the internet age.

We'd like to think these women would in some way be flattered but (without mentioning names, or implying I watch [much!] pornography) I can think of pretty famous (in this context) women of recent times who rather wish they'd made different choices.

I suppose that confused tension is part of it though...

@Murmurs I assume the women you speak of, modern, were involved to earn enough money to eventually be able to support themselves without porn.

@samueltyler2 if they were just nude photos I am sure they would be looked at differently. But many showed people engaged in bi-sexual activity, which is even today , on the edge of being "acceptable. "

@Murmurs most porn stars/ former porn stars , man or woman don't retire young with huge bank accounts and live a lavish lifestyle. Only a handful of men and far fewer women become wealthy doing porn. The ones that do are usually still involved in the production , directing, promoting and distribution of adult entertainment.

@samueltyler2 I don't think I would be to surprised a lot of people today wouldn't want them shown publicly and even fewer if they were engaged in bi-sexual activity.
