According to the Independent, senior figures in Rishi Sunak’s government are reportedly planning to move Britain into a Swiss-style relationship with the European Union.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt signalled last week that Mr Sunak’s administration intends to break ranks with Boris Johnson’s approach by removing the majority of trade barriers with the bloc.

What do my British friends think: is that a step forward in the right direction? Or is it the end of Britishness as we know it? Looking forward to your votes. 🌷

My oh my do you have a troll! 😅

I don't believe bottle of excellent Amarone will be enough and quite possibly make it worse. 😞

@DeWayfarer I've never met a man who wouldn't have calmed down after a glass of wine or two, and a nice smile.

@helenS I have known many that would get worse. 😞

Don't become friends with a hardened alcoholic is all I can say. The type of alcohol doesn't matter.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays For reasons yet to be determined I feel more attracted to those men who prefer wine. (May have to do with my teenage years)
@helenS I drink beer. But you could have assumed that. 🤣

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays I don't make assumptions, especially not when it's about men. Should we ever meet I'm going to offer you a glass of my favorite wine. 🌷
@helenS As long as it's white. No red.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Since he going for the sweet white, especially the Washington Riesling which is quite reasonably affordable, you should shock him with another German favorite which is more affordable in Iowa called Piestengel.

It's actually not a grape at all. Iowa Piestengel is a real affordable treat though. Plus you don't have to pay the import taxes for the more tart Riesling or Piestengel from Germany.

Few in the USA have ever heard of Piestengel much less tried it. I'm one of the few! To the best of my knowledge it's only made in one community on the eastern side of Iowa. Of course it's a German community.

At all cost stay away from the California Riesling. Yes it's not as sweet and far cheaper, yet it's atrocious. 😖
