I Am a Naturist

Naturism in Europe.

I was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine before coming to New Zealand with my parents as a child. It seems that in Europe nudism and being nude in public is far more readily accepted than in many other parts of the world. Here in New Zealand and in Australia we generally have great weather in the northern parts which is very condusive for going naked and there are nudist clubs, but not a lot of nude beaches and the nude body is generally frowned upon. As for the Pacific Islands; tropical paradises, it is a real no no. And I think in America it probably is as well.
In certain cities in Germany one can even go naked in certain public parks. Odessa where I was brought up it is often thought of as the naturist centre of the world. Many places, beaches, parks one can go naked and the nude body is not just thought of as natural it is thought of as something beautiful and the health benefits of going naked in the fresh air are realised.
Now don`t get me wrong, I love living in New Zealand, I am blessed and it is a paradise, and I have travelled to Australia and America; all lovely in parts. I just don`t quite understand and think it sad that we don`t share Europes acceptance of the naturally naked body. Perhaps it is because the civilisations are so much older.

I agree... Europe has always been a lot more accepting... It seems the English have a lot to answer for

Hi there. I am learned on FKK, it's origins and yes, the Ukraine and the settings there. I was disappointed with the situation in Crimea when that changed politically and had friends who did the Koktebel festivals and trips.

I have been to Oz and the north Island of NZ and in Oz, there certainly are real naturist venues on the east coast, other then the clubs/resorts. We travelled the east coast (mostly) and enjoyed various spots. Reports from some of our Kiwi members on www.internationalyn.org indicate there are areas in NZ, other then the clubs though?

@DaneeK Thank you and yes, there are some lovely places in NZ. It just doesn`t seem as accepted as in Ukraine, but that`s not a complaint; I love it here and am very thankfull.

You should visit Khajuraho for a different perspective of a mature civilization...

@LynnUK Well, you know, I thought I knew what I know, but now I know that what I thought I knew I didn`t really know, so now I don`t really know what I do know and what I don`t know! 😉

Thank you Nudy, a good explanation for me about the Puritans founding America.
It is a bit like the Christians and the Pacific Islands. Hundreds of years ago these lovely native people, and I say that very respectfully, would have been happily naked in their natural environment when the weather allowed. Now, after the so called 'Christians' converted (or subverted) them they think the naked body is bad and you can`t go to any beach or place in the Pacific Islands bare; in some places even a bikini is frowned upon. So sad.

It is probably because the prudes won the civil war in England all those years ago... :/
I actually have a friend from Ukraine who keeps wanting me to go. It certainly looks amazing.

Logical fallacy: Assuming your culture has different views because said views have matured more.

I agree, natural is best in all things, but I find most nudists are into body manicuring and not natural. At least here the U.S.

I think America is great. I simply said nudity and naturism is more readily accepted in parts of Europe.

Seems that way.
Americans are incredibly uptight about nudity... Well, I guess I shouldn't generalize but there are so few places to go nude.
DaneeK · 31-35, F
@penguinswon A generalization in the first sentence, but a valid one And there are actually. Many family oriented.
and i have visited many, but there are way too few.
