If you look at world history it's always been the powerful ones using the ones less powerful.
the UK doesn't have the bucks it used to
same with the US
Spain, the UK, the US, the Dutch, France - they all hadi their designs on Africa and South America.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if people would stop with the greed?

@Pretzel I'm not sure how the US had an land empire in Africa (or South America)...? In fact, the one place in Africa associated with the US (Liberia) was one of two countries which remained free through the "scramble for Africa" by the European powers.
FYI, for Africa, you omitted four of the seven powers: Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Germany (the lattermost so late to the game that some feel that this helped to ignite WWI). [I remember that, in Africa, the Dutch had mostly had settlements/bases in outposts just dotted on the coasts, like much of what the Phoenicians did in the Mediterranean.]

The UK should do it, but it has driven itself into the ground, economically, and ironically, it now blames immigrants from said countries, for its demise, resulting in Brexit and the rise of the UK right wing. Again, ironically, with the son of immigrants in 10 Downing (and husband of an immigrant).
Please wild, huh?

@Chattermanuk the irony is you think you know history well enough to comment on this, but it's evident you know hardly anything and have cobbled what little you do know from a few conversations in the pub or Google.

The UK and other colonizing peoples definitely helped do this, they lead to the exploitment and devastation of so many cultures and peoples around the world, and now in the modern day, its the US in particular who helps perpetuate this, but the UK definitely does too, many European countries.
Also about the dictators thing, a lot of those dictators were put there *by* the UK and America, etc etc. Through plenty of coups and proxy wars. Whatever suits their business ventures.

Total bollocks. How about the generations that have lived since take responsibility for their crap management of their country. Most of the countries you speak of are corrupt and waste their GDP rather then looking after their people. Most of those countries have had billions in aid and once again wasted it. Time for them to stand up
Nah…I think they did what was the trend during those years. They also helped build infrastructure in those colonies, if only for their personal gain. But the important thing is to stop blaming them for the past, and improve what we have in hand for a better future.
I think most of their colonies forgot this, and hence got poorer and worse after they left.

The most of the countries you speak of there was no government before I'm not saying what the UK and Britain did is good or bad

Are you listening Washington?
Maybe that is why China's foreign policy is so successful.

@Crazywaterspring If you think China wants something different from any *other* seeker of power... smh

It was more like quarter of the world lol, and many of those countries are rich. Also maybe the West could start by *not* interfering with other nations...like no longer telling Africans to be pro gay or trans, dictating who India and China want to trade with, or sanctioning countries when they don't follow western norms or do what the West wants.
UK can’t even save itself let alone give any reparations. Make the robber Barrons give up their gold.

Of course. Most recently the UK has served America in its extension of colonialism.

Flip side did the British not build railways and give countrys civilization like the Romans built roads and gave civilization so Britain could grow.
