My boyfriend spanks me all the time. Sometimes it's playful sometimes it's not. It definitely hurts more when he's mad. He uses his hand mostly. But also uses a belt or a brush.

I agree 100%. Take it from someone who knows. Both my parents spanked in anger. They were angry at what I did so let their frustration WITH me be taken out ON me (my behind).
My mom would make amends with hugs and kisses. My dad would cover up his guilt for loosing his temper with me by buying me off with gifts. I was never spanked out of shear love and concern; just anger and frustration.
We are from the same time period so we both have had bountiful experiences with spanking since it was all around us. Neighbors were like FAMILY so had permission to spank e/o's kids. Kids even included it in their play. Spanking in play was all in sweet innocence!
