it depends on the age and the issues... As a disciplinarian, i typically forgo the over the lap / hand spanking, unless that is part of why they come to me, to relive that process of apologizing, and then going over the lap to bring back memories that they thought were buried, but need more attention.

But i get folks who found that the reactions from spanking earlier in life manifested to needs and desires later on, and many times those folks find, if they share those memories and needs to a current BF or spouse, they are considered weird..
