What could make a spanking unbearable? [I Believe Spankings Should Hurt Beyond Bearable]

Societies have different tradition regarding the corporal punishments. CPs could be inflicted on bottom, on the palms of the hands, on the soles of the feet, on legs, on the upper backside, etc. In my country, the most used implement are the belt, the switch or the stick, while in some countries judicial CPs are administered with the cane or the whip. The Christianisme encourage CPs while other religions do not. Please, comment.
