Societies have different tradition regarding the corporal punishments. CPs could be inflicted on bottom, on the palms of the hands, on the soles of the feet, on legs, on the upper backside, etc. In my country, the most used implement are the belt, the switch or the stick, while in some countries judicial CPs are administered with the cane or the whip. The Christianisme encourage CPs while other religions do not. Please, comment.

@updown2020 Yes.. The belt also (from my Dad). Both parents told us that naked skin to skin contact during spankings (they were bare below the waist and us kids were naked) was the loving part of the punishment. We were lucky, because the belt was used more like a strap.. Short and with less force while administered over the knee..

@Codrin Both my sisters (one older and one younger) were summoned into the master bedroom for punishment. We all had to stand there naked wondering who was going to be spanked, listening to the lecture.. Then watch the first one receive the spanking and wondering if they'd be next... We usually cried for the one being spanked in sympathy and fear of being next.. It worked to teach us all from the errors of others..

@polyandrym66 I was spanked only in private, but the ritual for some of my mates implied the punishment being inflicted in the living room in front of the siblings, which can work as a deterrent for all, indeed. I'd have died with shame if my sister had witnessed my spanking, especially during my puberty or teen age.
