I was spanked by my mother till I was 15. When I was younger, it would be over her knee; as I got older I'd have to bend over the bed. She used her hand or a slipper, and if it was serious misbehaviour, I'd have to take my pants down and get it on my bare bottom.

I too was spanked, naked and OTK bare handed by my Mom until I was 17.
My two sisters were always witness to my punishment (as was I to there's).
It made a lasting impression and (for me) confused/combined sexual stimulus with pain. As an older man, I appreciate what she was teaching me on many levels. When I would ejaculate between her thighs, she would pause.. then continue for more smacks.. Was that more punishment or a reward. I think she was training me for later in life...
