I was spanked by my mother till I was 15. When I was younger, it would be over her knee; as I got older I'd have to bend over the bed. She used her hand or a slipper, and if it was serious misbehaviour, I'd have to take my pants down and get it on my bare bottom.

Reggie, I believe in it, used in moderation. Society has changed and, here in England at any rate, the punishments I received would probably be regarded as unacceptable (particularly the use of the slipper, and the fact of having my bottom bared); but it seems to me (and a statistical majority of other parents) that something has been lost by the stigmatizing of corporal punishment.
