I Am Curious About Adult Spanking

I am wondering why an adult person would want to submit to a spanking. Also I wonder if being spanked as a child leads to a spanking fetish.
If anybody has any thoughts on the subject I welcome your input.

I was never spanked as a child but I have the fetish. I think the fact that I am a control freak snd really hard on myself weighs in.

@Cheekyhannah it just seems that in the EP days and early SW times, there was a large presence of the Spanking community that seems to have drifted away now.
There were women wanting to spank men and vice versa, “Daddy Doms” and Fem Dommes... Subs looking for training and Dominance etc; they seem to have virtually vanished.
